Clay Copeland

Owner Clay Copeland started in the jewelry business in 1970 while in high school in El Paso, Texas. Clay started his craft as a bench jeweler at The Sheftall Company in 1976 as well as managing their jewelers' shop. He then went on to run the shop at Benold's Jewelers as well.

By 1983 he opened his own mall store and from his mall experience he says, "I decided there were 20 other jewelry stores there where a customer would be seeing the same thing at all 20, and that I was not going that route." Within a few years Clay moved the operations to The Arboretum Market under the name of Copeland Jewelers and soon became known for their more unique fine jewelry pieces. As of the year 2000 you'll find Copeland Jewelers' unique jewelry in the beautiful Davenport Village location. Clay, who has a knack for finding jewelry that people love concurs, "I think I got my eye from my grandfather. He was the design furrier for the well-known Bergdorf Goodman in New York City and was working in his day with clients like Grace Kelley and Elizabeth Taylor." Clay specializes in custom jewelry making including all aspects from design to wax model making to casting in precious metals and finally stone setting of all types. "I never wanted to say no to repairing or making anything. I would almost always find a way to get the job done no matter how big or small." Clay's committed to, "being honest and always doing the right thing because at the end of the day, all you have is your reputation."

Debra

Debra mostly works on administration, advertising and this website and you will find her occasionally out of the office and shop areas helping clients. Debra truly loves jewelry and rare gemstones and was donning a blue sapphire in her wedding ring long before Lady Diana. She hopes to pass hers onto someone who will really appreciate hers as well, but probably not with as much fanfare.
